Dear MCC Alumni and MCC Education Foundation Supporters,
This fall, we were thrilled to open our new school additions, celebrating with a ribbon-cutting event at Viking Elementary and our Grand Opening Program at MCC High School.
During Newfest, we hosted the MCC Wall of Honor Recognition Program in our new cafeteria area. Later, community members enjoyed tours of both Newfolden Elementary and MCC High School.
We are immensely grateful to the MCC community for voting to support these new spaces. The additions and student realignment have significantly improved our buildings. At Viking Elementary, we restored our library, added necessary office space to the building, expanded programming with a new preschool room (now offering preschool four days a week), created a beautiful music room, enhanced kitchen facilities, and installed playground fencing.
At Newfolden Elementary, the realignment allowed us to reestablish a music room and library, eliminating the need for students to cross the street to access these resources. We also added a staff/visitor parking lot, improving safety and visibility around the building.
At MCC High School, we introduced five new classrooms (four for 5th and 6th grades, and one multipurpose room). We now have a spacious cafeteria/commons area, a new kitchen, a secondary gym, a weight room, and a guest locker room. These enhancements provide a safer, more flexible environment to better meet student needs and demands for space. The new gym will also enable us to serve as a premier hosting facility in our area, with events like the boys’ basketball jamboree and the regional large group music contest scheduled for later this year. Our weight room is available to the community during set hours: weekdays from 6 PM to 9 PM, and weekends from 6 AM to 9 AM, when there are no school events. We’re currently in a trial phase and hope to expand these hours soon.
Enrollment is slightly up this year, with 461 K-12 students, compared to 451 last fall.
As our fall sports season wraps up, we look forward to winter activities, including basketball, robotics/drones, knowledge bowl, e-sports, band/choir contests, and the school musical.
Our relationship with the MCC Education Foundation continues to grow stronger. I cannot emphasize enough how invaluable the foundation has been in supporting our schools and keeping alumni connected with MCC. At our annual senior awards, the foundation and other scholarship providers have expanded opportunities for our students. Last year, our students received a remarkable $205,000 in scholarships. The foundation was one of the leading contributors. Additionally, the foundation sponsors teacher grants each year, enhancing the supplies and equipment available to our educators. The Foundation’s Dinner for the Fine Arts Fundraiser has also provided crucial funding for our music and art programs. We are also grateful for the foundation’s support of our drone team’s trip to regions.

Football Tailgate Fundraiser
MCC welcomed students on "Back to School" night on August 28th. The MCC Education Foundation partnered with North Valley Public Health to provide a photo backdrop and sent each Pre-K and Headstart student home with a goodie bag!
Third Annual MCC Scholarship Run
Hosted by the American Legion Riders of Middle River
Twenty-four riders gathered for the 3rd Annual MCC Scholarship Run on Saturday, June 29th. The ride started and ended at The Hobo in Newfolden. Thank you to the American Legion Riders for having a safe and successful ride, and for supporting the MCC Education Foundation!

The MCC Education Foundation would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Karlstad Golf Club for hosting our 1st Golf Scramble last Friday, June 28th. Thank you for allowing us to use the course and also to your members who donated carts for the event. Thank you to our volunteers as well for helping organize and run the show that day. We had 17 teams participate and it was a fun day for everyone involved!
